Responsibilities Lucy Scott is a marine and freshwater ichthyologist, with 14 years experience in southern Africa and the Western Indian Ocean region. She has previously been the regional Data and Science Coordinator for the UNDP GEF Agulhas & Somali Current Large Marine Ecosystems (ASCLME) Project. Up to 2014 she coordinated regional science, data and information management activities and Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) development for the project in nine countries. She has previously worked in South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Malawi, Comoros, Kenya, Seychelles, Mauritius, Maldives and Madagascar on a wide variety of projects and programmes. These included stakeholder consultations, marine research expeditions, data management projects and the development of Geographic Information Systems, particularly for biodiversity, coastal resource mapping, aquaculture and conservation planning and long term monitoring in both freshwater and marine ecosystems. She has participated in GIS atlas projects at several scales including the African Coastal and Marine Atlas, a project involving participants from 16 African, European and North American countries. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the Southern African Data Centre for Oceanography and the International Coastal Atlas Network.
